The Coral Room, Bloomsbury Hotel, Tottenham Court Road — The Coral Room is one of the prettiest hotel bars I’ve ever been to. Colourful, exotic and with the highest ceiling in Central London (maybe), it’s a very chill place to spend a few hours writing away. The cocktails are great, if a bit pricey, but it’s worth it for the atmosphere, décor and service.
Royal Court Theatre, Sloane Square — If you’re a playwright, there is probably no better place to get your creative juices flowing than the downstairs bar at the Royal Court. Quiet and cool, it offers a fantastic selection of cocktails and burgers, and if you’re lucky, and you might spot a celeb or two. Just don’t make a fool of yourself.
