Top 30 Cold Case episodes
I was obsessed with Cold Case when I was younger. It is still one of my all-time favorite TV shows. The concept, casting, soundtrack, complex characters, especially Lilly Rush (Kathryn Morris), the whole ‘going back in time’ thing… Not to mention the, yes, cheesy closing moments with poignant ballads and effective slow-motion, culminating in one of the characters seeing the victim’s ghost. I can’t believe the creators successfully pitched that particular bit, but I’m glad they did! It’s just a great show. So, after re-binging it recently, I decided to do my Top 30 favorite Cold Case episodes. (Knowing me, I’ll probably change my mind tomorrow). Here goes:
30. The Brush Man (Season 6, Episode 14)
1967: Travelling salesman Roy Dunn suspects something is very wrong in one of the affluent neighborhoods on his route before getting killed. In the present day, his remains are found at the bottom of a pond.
The Brush Man features not only one of the loveliest victims in the show’s history, but also my favorite film and TV trope: the picture-perfect suburban neighborhood that turns out not to be so perfect after all.
