Sequels have always been in the adapted screenplay category, since they are based, so to speak, on the original film. If it is filmed, produced, published, etc, then the sequel is adapted. And I agree with most of your choices. Wells’ snub is, to me, unforgivable. Also loved Colin Farrell’s performance in Banshees. Love Blanchett but it’s time to give someone else an Oscar (and this is coming from a Katharine Hepburn fan!)
