Ooh, goody, a desert island challenge! Everyone was doing them on Medium about a month ago, but as always, I’m late to the party. But here we are! The ten TV shows I would take with me if I got stranded on a desert island. These aren’t necessarily my ten favourite TV shows, just the ones I would take with me, for many reasons and I tried to have as many different types of shows as possible, from sitcom to drama to anthology, etc, to suit my desert island needs. Mind you, I might change my mind the minute I hit ‘publish’ but such is my blogging burden. Here we go.

In no particular order, except for chronological:

Twilight Zone (1959–1964)

A strong contender for the title of ‘greatest TV show of all time’. There isn’t a whole lot left to say about Red Serling’s iconic anthology series that revolutionized television drama as we know it, but for my part, I will say that nearly every episode has inspired me to write something of my own. And I suspect that’s the case for a lot of scriptwriters. The Twilight Zone created new genres, perfected existing ones, set the tone for television drama and spawned an almost unprecedented level of spin-offs, tributes, and references.

It’s highly addictive and though I wouldn’t necessarily recommend watching toooo many episodes back to back, ’cause you know, it…
