5 Things I Love About Solo Travelling

Lately, I’ve been travelling the UK on my own. I have lived here for over a decade (!) and I recently realized I don’t know this amazing place as well as I should — I guess that must be the London syndrome! So earlier this year, I decided I was going to rectify that; so I’ve been doing at least two day trips a month to several places and it’s been a lot of fun — more articles on that later, so stay tuned! On top of that, I’ve travelled solo to a few major cities around the world and loved every minute of it.

And so between quaint towns, seaside resorts, and otherwise world cities that take your breath away, I’ve learned a thing or two about travelling solo. I’m not going to give you tips on that because there are tons of fantastic articles, videos and blog posts about that online that you should definitely check out.

Instead, here are just five things I love about travelling on my own!

Doing what you want to do

When you’re going on holiday with other people, there is a lot of compromise all around. You have to work out what everybody’s plans will be, what people want to do, where you want to go for dinner, etc. Don’t get me wrong, travelling with friends and family can be amazing and you make a lot of great memories, but sometimes it’s nice to do the things you want to do, when you want…
