5 Barbenheimer-like Double Bills You Should Absolutely Watch

Look, not to brag but I was doing weird double bills before it was cool! My Double Bill articles on The Old Hollywood Garden ran for nearly two years and I absolutely loved thinking up features and marathons and writing about them. Though, in this case, the point of my articles was to analyse the differences and similarities of two films that, on the surface, are similar. Check them out here.

So Barbenheimer. What’s all this then? Well, for the three of you who are not aware of it, it is the name for Greta Gerwig’s Barbie and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, due to the fact that they both came out on 21 July, creating an absolutely hoo-ha, not least because they couldn’t be more different. Parties, merchandise, memes, articles, you name it... Barbenheimer is the phenomenon of the summer.

So this got me thinking. What other double bills could there be that would have a similar vibe? Not so much the same effect, as that is pretty much impossible to re-create, but what other double bills could one come up with, that feature two strikingly different movies, with so much to look at, analyse, experience and revel in?
