Ten 80s Songs That Are Way Underrated
The 1980s is probably the best decade ever for music. As a 1992 baby, I used to watch VH1 Classic all the time growing up, waiting for my favourite songs and videos from the 80s to come up. I get my music taste from my mother, what can I say?
The 80s gave us some of the most well-regarded and beloved music artists of all time. Madonna, Michael Jackson, George Michael, U2, Duran Duran, Prince… and of course, Black Lace.
But what about those underrated artists and tunes that deserve more love? Here are ten songs from the 80s that I think are underrated, in no particular order.
Living in Another World by Talk Talk
I first heard this song at the St Moritz nightclub in Soho, London when they did 80s nights and became obsessed. It’s such a cool and immersive tune that literally feels like you’re being transported to another universe.
Captain of Her Heart by Double
No matter where you are or what you’re doing, when you hear that piano, you immediately relax… One of the most beautiful songs of the 80s and one that seems to be mostly forgotten.
